“Time’s Truth” Paintings

Falling Clocks

Falling Time Pieces – Date- 09/2012 – Medium- Acrylic – Dimensions- 24” x 36”

This piece is part of my “Time” series. This piece is showing vintage clocks falling from different time zones to show how time is always ticking and always there. I chose to use vintage clocks, for the beautiful detailing those clocks contain and to symbolize how time carries importance and history.

Lady Clocksworth

Lady Clocks Worth - Date- 09/2012 – Medium- Acrylic – Dimensions- 30” x 40”

This piece is part of my “Time” series. This piece was a play off of the character “Clocks Worth” from Disneyʼs Beauty and the Beast animation film. I wanted to have a little fun with my “time theme so I decided to create a father clock inspired piece just reinvented and replaced with a woman.

Beyond The Block Festival !

So the other day, like every other day I open my instagram to see what new images were posted om my news feed. I come across one from Viajero asking the mass that follows him if any one would like to join him to live paint at an event. I’m always down to live paint, so I replied and he soon sent me all the info I need to join him in this live painting event. I didn’t really know what I was painted for or why. All he gave me was the address and time. When I got there he showed me the wood board I would be painting on. It was pretty big and the first time I would be painting on wood. I’ve always wanted to paint on wood but haven’t until this event. Continue reading

It’s going to be a great collection and show. I will definitely keep you all up dated on all my upcoming events. Some where I’m live painting!!!

Mason’s Midnight Mural !

If your a follower of my blog you all know that my beautiful cousin Kanielle gave birth to her first baby boy Mason Israel. Before Kanielle gave birth she was preparing everything perfectly for Mason and commissioned me to make a night sky for him above his crib. I’ve been commissioned to do a few murals in the in previous months but this one was the first on a ceiling. The mural measured 46″ x 32″ and it took me about 3 weeks to complete. The fact that it was on the ceiling made it the hardest mural I’ve ever done..lol. Kanielle and Louie ended up seeing the finished piece when they came home from the hospital the first time with Mason. They loved it, which is what I was hoping for.  I don’t have many pictures which sucks but I hope the little that I have does some justice.

A Wall For NetMining & Ignition One !!

This is a mural I did with the Next Marvel team late last year for Netmining & Ignition One. These two companies merged together and relocated their office in Tribeca, New York. To add some excitement to their new office they hired Next Marvel, Mheartstar and myself to create a mural for the entire floor. This mural took about 3 weeks to complete. The finished product is so good we still keep hearing great comments about it and it has brought more clients to us wanting our art. I love having creative friends and I love coming together to make masterpieces.Interested in having a painting or mural done for yourself/love one/company, don’t hesitate to contact me at [ Teek.lavache@gmail.com ] for my rates.

New Painting: ” Boombox Babe”

This painting I made for a friend of mine. I painted her on a wax record I found in my grand fathers old boxes and mounted it on top of a wood panel. My friend is well-respected in the hip hop world, so I wanted to make something for him that would be symbolic. I didn’t want it to look completely urban, so that’s why I kept the background white. I’m still debating whether or not to draw a background, but for not I’m satisfied. I had her holding a boombox because besides the large door knocker earrings the girls wore back then, boom boxes are my favorite accessories from the 80′s/ early 90′s. I made this late last year so this painting is old news now but I decided to share it so you all can see the small commissioned pieces I’ve been doing.

Till next Time.

Our Fury Event

Last month, I did a live Whitney painting at the “Our Fury” event hosted by my fellow art friend Walker Fee at the Bowery Poets Cafe. Honestly I wasn’t looking forward to this event because I was exhausted and didn’t wanna share my paint. However, I’m a woman of my word so I dragged myself to the show and tried to be optimistic about the event. I don’t know why I had all those negative feelings about the event because once it started my frown turned upside down. They asked four artists to participate in painting live at the event. Two of them were my good friends Edgar and Jorge. As a team we painted a large portrait of Whitney to memorialize her greatness.

Not to toot my own horn but I’m pretty good at portrait painting. I think it’s partly because of my slight obsession with scale and proportion. Villy [the fourth artist] and I went to work on her face and well the most important part of the painting lol. It came out okay, I’m not too crazy about it but least it looks like Whitney. This was my first gig doing a live painting for an event so it was an exciting moment for me. A few people showed up for me; my cousin Kailey, my favorite busboy Steuart and my brother from another mother, Jones.
