I didn’t go all out and plan a crazy birthday party like I usually do, but I still had fun. My birthday landed on a Monday this year so I decided to do a little something on Sunday and just have a cake cutting with my family on the day of my birthday.

Sunday, I ended up going to a bar in the Village called Wicked Willies. I have passed this place a ton of times and have heard about it from a lot of people who have been there and had a blast. I didn’t want to celebrate my birthday with a whole lot of people. Those who came were my hubby, Melissa, Chevy, Jesicka, my cousin Shima and my sister. A few of my sisters friend’s came as well. I had a small but great group with me on my birthday. Continue reading

My 23rd Birthday Bash!

Saturday, January 14 was my 23rd birthday and I celebrated it this year with a bang! To start off my birthday weekend my co-workers at BCNY surprised me with a birthday cake before we all closed down to go home Friday evening. I thought that was so sweet and it reminded me how great my job and co-workers are. Later Friday night I went to work my second job at Viva Lounge, which is where I brought in my birthday. Once it struck midnight my bosses started celebrating my birthday by buying me drinks all night long. Saying happy birthday after rounds and rounds of shots and my favorite part was the Dj shouting out my name all night because I was the special birthday girl. Definitely a great start to my birthday! Elena’s Turns 21

My baby sister finally turned 21 and as her older sister I went “innnnnnn”…lol I wanted to make her birthday good! Her real birthday was August 31 which landed on a Wednesday. Just because it was the middle of the week didn’t mean we were wait to celebrate, especially her 21st. So that night her friends and I met up with her after her boyfriend Jermaine took her out to a romantic dinner. She didn’t want to get real crazy so we planned on getting drinks to cheer on her adulthood. We ended up going to this underground house music club in Meat-Packing called “Bunker”. We didn’t stay long because everyone had work the next day but we danced a little and enjoyed the free drinks :) . Continue reading

Washington DC Trip!

This last weekend of January, my best friend and I went to Washington DC. Getting out of New York was the best thing I could have done to cure my current depression this past month. The trip was planned to be on my birthday weekend, but certain things restricted that from happening :-/ .The trip was great, we saw most of the monuments and as many museums as we could. With the 2 days we were there we successfully squeeze visiting all my family and seeing most of the district in our trip. We stayed at my uncle’s town house which in Virgina which was big and beautiful. We got to see my new baby cousin Jayden and my gorgeous aunt Myria as well. Sunday was the day we saw most of the city like the white house, the capital, the Lincoln memorial, the reflection pool and everything. I loved the time I got to spend with my best friend Nicole, we’re so busy with our personal lives we hardly get enough time to get enjoy each others company longer than 3 hrs. New york is definitely the city that never sleeps. On sunday after our site seeing we wanted to get something to eat and warm up, plus our new yorker feet were killing us and we needed to take a major rest. We started looking for restaurants and nothing was open including Bodega’s and deli’s. It was a ghost town and it was only 5pm!!!. We’re both Capricorn so we were getting so frustrated and annoyed at the same things, at the same time, I think we started getting annoyed at each other because we were so cold and hungry our crankiness was at it’s max..lol. Over all the trip was great, I got a really neat pilot hat and a Rosie Riveter magnet from the National Air and Space Museum which was my favorite museum, as well as some nice prints of artwork displayed in the National Gallery of Art which was my second favorite museum. Along with those museums we saw the National Museum of Natural History, Hirsthorn Museum ,the Smithsonian Sculpture Garden, and the Museum of Native Americans.
