Karen’s Closet is an online store created for women on a budget who enjoy staying in style. Skrillex x Wezc Secret Party

Thursday, February 2, 2012 my girls Sara, Stephie, Pia and I attended the Skrillex and Wezc Secret Event Party. Before this night I had no idea who Skrillex was or what Dubstep was as well. I’m not living under a rock I’m just a hip hop reggae baby and I’m not much of a music venture. So Dub step is a type of electronic dance music that originated in South London, United Kingdom. Its overall sound has been described as “tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals. If Melissa wasn’t in Colombia she would have loved it!

Our friend Smurfo who hooked us up with the event passes told us to be at the Wezc location 9 pm SHARP! We got there promptly at 9pm but it  apparently wasn’t early enough because the line outside was already almost around the block. The Wezc store was jammed pack by the time we got there too, so they were only allowing people to exit. After a couple of minutes standing in the cold, we made it inside to received our VIP passes. Those passes allowed us on this mega bus which was going to bring us to the secret location all the action was being held at. We chilled / warmed up in the Wezc store for a little to meet some new people and take advantage of the free bar ;-) . Once we entered the bus, to keep everyone’s anticipation on high they made us blind fold ourselves for the trip. That was my favorite part of the night. The surprise location wasn’t as wonderful as I thought it would be…. Continue reading

8×8 Instagram Show

Last Friday I was a part of the first 8×8 Instagram Show curated by Vicki Pages. The show was held in the Bronx and it featured 25 instagramers including myself. I had no idea about this show until Victor asked me to be a part of it a week before the opening. For a night where it was pouring buckets of rain, the show had an amazing turn out and was a huge success. I meet a lot of  great new people and of course saw a handful of familiar faces. I’m also proudly was one of the instagramers who sold a piece of work.  Continue reading

Stephie Supports TKL :-)

Click the picture to view the post.

I love to support/blog about fellow artist and such individual, because the world is bigger than yourself. There are tons of talented people out there that should be known that inspire and motivate others, but don’t get exposure because people look at everything as a competition. Those people only go so far until they get knocked up, fat or they’re hype  just dies out ..lol. Hardly do I ever write about someone and get a  response in return[ maybe this year will change that :-) ]. Stephanie I blogged about in the beginning of the month {in this post}. Today Stephanie posted a link on my Facebook  to a blog  she wrote about me, which made my day!! She’s such a sweetheart, her post meant so much to me ;-D. I’m happy to see I inspire others that share the same dreams and aspiration as I do. Thank you for the support Honey!!
